La Trappe is the oldest Trappist beer brewed in the Netherlands and the monks of Our Lady of Koningshoeve Abbey, near Tilburg, have produced it since 1884. Local produce such as asparagus, strawberries and other fruits, cheeses and meats can be bought at farmer's markets and local or farm shops. Brabant's restaurants stand out due to their hospitality. That the people of Brabant love good food is also apparent in the trendy food market concepts in Tilburg, Eindhoven and 's-Hertogenbosch – worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood!
Thanks to its central and sheltered location on the River Maas, the fortified town of Heusden is much favoured by international river cruise operators. The immediate surroundings lend themselves perfectly to various short and long excursions. The city of s-Hertogenbosch is only 20 minutes away. Heusden has a landing stage for ships of approximately 110 metres in length and there are electrical hook-ups, water connections and waste water disposal points. Passengers can be in the town centre in no time via steps or via a route for mobility impaired passengers.

Breda has a direct connection to Belgium. The Benelux-Plus express train makes use of the HSL High Speed Line. This will mean that Breda is also easily accessible from the south.
