With resplendent exhibitions, Het Noordbrabants Museum showcases the wealth of Brabant’s art, history and culture. One of the largest cultural attractions in the Netherlands. It is the only museum in the southern part of the Netherlands to exhibit original works by Vincent van Gogh.
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was born and raised in North Brabant. Here he developed his artistry. Het Noordbrabants Museum is the only place in Brabant where you can see original paintings by Van Gogh. During the tour you will learn about Van Gogh’s life and the works he created while living in Brabant.
Discover significant moments from Brabant’s history. From the Middle Ages up to the ‘future arena' that challenges you to add to the story of Brabant’s future!
Groups can book various guided tours. For example, there are tours of the museum collection, about Vincent van Gogh, about old masters such as Breugel or about art from the present day. Guided tours can also be booked for the temporary exhibitions.
If you are a fan of old art, then you are at the right address. With pieces from the time of Pieter Bruegel, a majestic silver cabinet and of course, the Masters of the South, this presentation takes you right back to the past: you will be amazed.
The museum honours old masters but also modern and contemporary art. The museum exhibits pieces from the permanent collection, a great mix of paintings, photos and sculptures by Brabant artists with an international oeuvre.
The Museum Restaurant is the meeting place of the museum complex. Museum visitors can come here for a cup of coffee, tasty sandwich or a glass of wine. The museum’s location, ambiance and liveliness make it very appealing to visitors to the complex and the city centre of Den Bosch.
In our Museum Shop, you will find catalogues, postcards, objects of art and modern design. The shop is situated beside the entrance of Design Museum Den Bosch.
Beside an amazing permanent collection, the museum also holds many temporary exhibitions such as Eva Jospin, Tatsuo Miyajima and Picasso.
Two museums under one roof! Together with Design Museum Den Bosch, The Noordbrabants Museum forms the Museumkwartier (museum quarter).
The image of the Noordbrabants Museum is determined, among other things, by the lovely classicist facade of the former Den Bosch government palace from 1744.
