2017 – Brabant the cradle of Dutch Design in The Netherlands

Where design is conceived and where it's made

February - Brabant is the cradle of Dutch Design; the pioneering spirit is in our DNA. Brabant brings forth makers and innovators. 2017 will have the theme ‘From Mondrian to Dutch Design’. In that year Brabant will be zooming in on 100 years of creativity and art, with the town of Eindhoven as Capital of Dutch Design. One of the most important institutes for design innovation in the world is located here: The Design Academy.

Brabant and Eindhoven bridge the gap between the heritage of De Stijl and contemporary design.
With a strong focus on the last 25 years of Dutch Design, the impact of design and art on societal challenges and future innovations, the region celebrates creativity from the Netherlands and abroad.

The programme offers visitors a unique insight into the world of Dutch Design: where design is conceived and where it’s made.

Programme
The programme is all about Experiencing at first hand: behind-the scenes visits to designer’s studios, exploring unique museum collections, celebrating creativity at festivals and the Dutch Design Week, but mostly by trying your own hand at designing and creating in one of the numerous work spaces.
